Due to the lack of resources for Japanese mahjong in English, I decided to translate one of the Japanese guides that I found to be comprehensive and helpful.
The original guide can be found here: http://beginners.biz/
Despite of the "beginners" in its URL, this guide is meant for people who at least know the rules of Japanese mahjong already and want to improve into intermediate level. Therefore, the basic rules of Japanese mahjong will NOT be covered extensively in this guide. You can easily find those guides in English through Google and YouTube. So before you proceed, please familiarize yourself with the basic rules first.
I admit that I have not looked at the English side of Japanese mahjong much, but based on a quick skim it seems that there exists a notable degree of discrepancy in the translation of mahjong terms. To standardize everything, I will use Japanese terms when possible (while defining them when they appear for the first time). This way there will be no confusion.
I will attempt to translate one chapter once in a while. Progress depends on my work/life schedule. Feel free to drop me a line in my discord server's mahjong channel. You need to ping me and state your purpose before you can have access to discord contents.
Be sure to ping me and identify yourself first or else you will not see any messages.
